In view of its global significance, please be aware that the US FDA has this morning placed an advance copy of the long-awaited current good manufacturing practices (cGMPs) for manufacturers of dietary supplements on its web site:
http://www.fda.gov/OHRMS/DOCKETS/98fr/cf0441.pdf.
This document is 815 pages long and we understand that the FDA plans to publish it on Monday.
We also understand that the FDA will also permit companies to request an exemption from the need to carry out at least one identity test on dietary ingredients in supplements. The relevant document for this can be found at:
