The Polish Council for Supplements and Nutritional Foods (KRSiO)
was created in 2004 to represent manufacturers of dietary supplements and nutritional foods in Poland. Its establishment was in a direct response to a rapidly expanding market of dietary supplements, functional foods and nutritions in Poland. Its registration coincided with essential changes in Polish and European legislation processes and the development of UE regulatory framework.
KRSiO's role:
- to influence the legislation process for dietary supplements, functional foods and nutritional foods
- to disseminate reliable information on the role of those products in a proper human diet
- to educate consumers and health-care professionals
- to ensure that the products are science-based, safe and made to high standards of quality
- to develop an appropriate regulatory framework throughout the EU, promote dialogue on scientific and regulatory issues (health claims, safety data, labelling, marketing)
KRSiO is a member of international organisations:
IADSA – International Alliance of Dietary/Food Supplement Associations
EHPM – European Federation of Associations of Health Product Manufacturers
KRSiO closely cooperates with ERNA - European Responsible Nutrition Alliance
